Commander Mike Dalrymple is a native of Dayton, Ohio. Mike was commissioned through the Naval ROTC program after graduating from The Citadel in 2004.
In his last tour he served as Commanding Officer of EOD Mobile Unit ONE where he led EOD Platoons and ExMCM Companies in worldwide operations in support of Fleet, Special Operations Forces, and Combatant Command requirements.
His previous sea duty assignments were as Executive Officer, EOD Mobile Unit THREE where he deployed as Deputy Commander Counter-IED Task Force (SPARTA) Combined Joint - Task Force Horn of Africa; Operations Officer, EOD Group ONE, Platoon Commander, EOD Mobile Unit THREE; Navigation Department Head onboard USS MILIUS (DDG 69); Combat Systems Officer and Chief Engineer onboard USS CHAMPION (MCM 4);
Ashore his assignments included Force EOD Officer (CWMD Plans Officer), Naval Special Warfare Command; Mine Warfare Staff Officer, Surface and Mine Warfare Development Center; and Advanced EOD Training Department Head (AIEDD), Naval School EOD.
He assumed his current duties as Deputy Commander of MCM Group THREE in May 2023; responsible for serving as the Maritime Homeland Defense MCM Task Force and operational planning staff to Second, Third, and Fourth Fleet.
CDR Dalrymple has earned designation as an EOD Warfare Officer, Surface Warfare Officer, Naval Parachutist (Freefall), and Master Training Specialist. He graduated magna cum laude from The Citadel with a double Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Criminal Justice, and with a Minor in Psychology. He earned a Master of Arts from Boston University in Criminal Justice and completed Joint Professional Military Education through the U.S. Naval War College.
