09 March 2023 Senior Chief Petty Officer Naomi M. Shady is a native of Mayfield Heights, Ohio, and raised in Spain, Central California, and Idaho, as her father was an enlisted member of the Air Force. Shady attended Cryptologic Technician Communications (CTO) Apprentice School in Pensacola, Fl. She holds an Associate of Arts in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Investigative Forensics from University of Maryland University College, Network +, Security +, CCNA, the Senior Enlisted Academy, and the Air Force Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Academy. 

Her CTO duty stations include Commander, Naval Special Warfare Command in San Diego, California and Kunia Regional Operations Center in Hawaii, now known as Navy Information Operations Command Hawaii. 

Following Shady’s conversion to the Cryptologic Technician Networks rating, she served at Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command, Navy Information Operations Command Georgia, Maryland, and Pensacola; Commander, Pacific Fleet Command; and NIOC Hawaii. 

Shady currently serves as the Command Senior Chief for USS Gabrielle Giffords (LCS 10) Gold crew. 

Her personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), the Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist Insignia.
