CDR Bryan Gallant

Past Commanding Officer, USS Rushmore (LSD 47)

11 March 2023 CDR Bryan Gallant is a 2005 graduate of the North Carolina State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Japanese Language. He holds a Master of Science in Physics from the Naval Post Graduate School.

Gallant has served division officer tours as a surface warfare officer in USS JUNEAU (LPD 10) as Propulsion Division Officer and Force Protection Officer and in USS FITZGERALD (DDG 62) as Fire Control Officer. As a department head he served as Chief Engineer in USS WARRIOR (MCM 10) and USS GERMANTOWN (LSD 42). He commanded USS PATRIOT (MCM 7) after first serving as Executive Officer. Ashore he served as N3/5 Operations Officer for Mine Countermeasures Squadron SEVEN. He served as Executive Officer on USS COMSTOCK (LSD 45) and on USS RUSHMORE (LSD 47). CDR Gallant took command of USS RUSHMORE (LSD 47) on January 6th 2023.

CDR Gallant has received various personal and campaign awards, including the Meritorious Service Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
