Commander Dave Huscher is a native of Long Beach, California. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and from the University of San Diego in 2013 with a Master of Science in Business Leadership.
At sea, he served as Ordnance Officer on USS Curtis Wilbur (DDG 54) homeported in Yokosuka, Japan, Operations Officer on MCM Crew Leader homeported in Ingleside, Texas, Operations Officer on USS William P Lawrence (DDG 110) homeported in San Diego, California, and as Operations Officer on the staff of Commander, Destroyer Squadron Seven based in Singapore.
Ashore, Commander Huscher served at CTF-Iraqi Maritime based on the Al-Basrah Oil Terminal (ABOT) and Bahrain. He also served as a Training Liaison Officer at Afloat Training Group San Diego, as the Commander’s Action Group Deputy Director on the staff of Commander, Naval Surface Forces, U.S. Pacific Fleet, and as a Congressional Liaison at the Navy Office of Legislative Affairs in Washington DC.
Commander Huscher’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various campaign, unit, and service awards.
