Cmdr. Anthony M. Harris, a native of San Diego, Calif., graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Oceanography and was commissioned in 2007.
Harris’ sea duty assignments include serving as Force Protection Officer aboard USS Curts (FFG 38); Boat Detachment, Officer in Charge at Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron Six; Operations Officer aboard USS Russell (DDG 59) and USS New Orleans (LPD 18); and Commanding Officer, Riverine Squadron, MK VI Bravo Company.
Ashore, Harris served as port security/harbor defense officer for Joint Security Office Forward, U.S. Central Command, Country Vulnerability Assessment Team; Assistant Tactical Readiness and Midshipman Training Officer at Commander, Naval Surface Force Pacific; and Director of Officer of the Deck Phase II at Mariner Skills Training Center, Pacific.
Harris’ personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (four awards), and other personal, unit and campaign medals.
