A native of Saratoga Springs, New York, CDR Kevin Dore graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 2004 and received his commission via the NROTC Program.

As a Surface Warfare Officer with a Nuclear Power specialty, CDR Dore served his division officer tours as Gunnery Officer in USS ANZIO (CG 68) and Reactor Electrical Division Officer in USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72). CDR Dore completed his Department Head tours as Combat Systems Office in USS ELROD (FFG 55) and as Reactor Electrical Assistant in USS NIMITZ (CVN 68).

Ashore, CDR Dore served as Battle Watch Captain, U.S. Pacific Fleet, as well as the Community Manager for Nuclear Trained Surface Warfare Officers at Navy Personnel Command. 

CDR Dore holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a Master’s Degree in National Security Affairs from the Naval Postgraduate School. He also completed Nuclear Power School and Prototype Training.

Commander Dore’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5 awards) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 awards) as well as various unit and service awards. 

Commander Dore served as USS DANIEL INOUYE’s  Executive Officer from December 2021 through February 2023.
