CDR Michelle Morgan

Commanding Officer, Beach Master Unit (BMU) 1

12 June 2023 A native of Guymon, OK, CDR Michelle D. Morgan received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston and commission from NROTC Houston Consortium in 2001, and a Master’s degree in Military Operational Art and Science at the Air Command and Staff College.

At sea, she served as First Lieutenant and Damage Control Assistant on USS CUSHING (DD 985), Training Officer on USS DULUTH (LPD 6), Chief Engineer on USS GARY (FFG 51), and Chief Engineer on USS CHANCELLORSVILLE (CG 62).  She deployed to the Arabian Gulf, Eastern and Western Pacific in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, Operation UNIFIED ASSISTANCE, Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, Counter Illicit Terrorism, Operation TOMODACHI, and Operation NEW DAWN.

Shore assignments include Force Navigator at Commander, Naval Surface U.S. Pacific Fleet; Senior Engineering Inspector at Commander, Naval Surface Force U.S. Pacific Fleet; Current Surface Operations at Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet; Chief Staff Officer at Mine Counter Measures Squadron Three; and Chief Staff Officer at Surface Development Squadron ONE.  CDR Morgan recently completed Executive Officer tour at BEACHMASTER UNIT ONE.

CDR Morgan’s personal awards include Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), and the Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards).
