Master Chief Torres is a native of New York, NY. He joined the Navy after graduating George Washington High School and reported to Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, IL in 1998.
His initial sea tour was onboard USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69) from October 1998 to January 2003 where he served as an Airman Apprentice and work center supervisor for the Hangar Deck division. During this tour, he deployed with USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71) and USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV 67) in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. Upon completion of this tour, he then reported to Naval Air Station Key West, Florida from 2003 to 2006 where he deployed as an Individual Augmentee to CENTCOM as Logistics Leading Petty Officer for a multinational force in the Qatar and Horn of Africa AOR. His next assignment was onboard USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65), assigned as the Flight Deck Division Leading Petty Officer from 2006 to 2011 where he was selected to Chief Petty Officer. In 2011, he reported to Surface Warfare Officer School Learning Site Mayport, FL, where he was assigned as the Damage Control Firefighting LCPO. He then reported to USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69) in June 2014, where he served as the V-1 Division LCPO in Air Department and Training Department LCPO. On August 2018, he reported to his first assignment as Command Senior Enlisted Leader onboard the USS ARDENT (MCM 12). On October 2020, he reported to his next assignment onboard USS COMSTOCK (LSD 45). He was selected and is currently serving as Command Master Chief of Amphibious Squadron FIVE
He is a graduate of the United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 210 Gray and Naval Leadership & Ethics Center CMC/COB CLASS #18110/188.
Master Chief Torres’ decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and various unit and campaign awards. He has also earned his Aviation Warfare, Surface Warfare, Information Warfare, and Master Training Specialist qualifications.
