Captain Kevin Bosse graduated from Villanova University in 2002, earning his commission after completing a four-year Naval ROTC scholarship. He holds a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College, where he also completed JPME 1, and a Master of Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC-Chapel Hill.

A Surface Warfare Officer, his sea duty assignment include electrical officer, anti-submarine warfare officer, and VBSS boarding officer aboard the USS Carney (DDG 64) with deployments to 6th Fleet; and surface operations officer and assistant operations officer for Commander, Mine Countermeasures Squadron Two.

Affiliating with the Navy Reserve (NR) in 2007, he served in Officer-in-Charge (OIC) and Department Head billets within the Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron Four and Twelve. NR Staff assignments include watch officer and assistant Battle Watch Captain in the Navy Operations Center as a member of CNO Ops and Plans (N3/N5); action officer for US Military Delegation to NATO; and Executive Officer of Joint Staff South while concurrently serving as an action officer to J35 – Global Force Management. Additionally, he represented the Navy as an exchange officer assigned to the Frigate BRANDENBURG stationed at Wilhelmshaven Naval Base as part of the Military Reserve Officer Exchange Program (MREP).

His NR Command tours include CTF 56 task unit commander in Fujairah, UAE; Cargo Afloat Rig Team (CART) and LCSRON Two Maintenance Execution Team (MET) Charlie in Mayport, FL.

Active-duty recall/mobilizations include: July 2009 – June 2010, with MSRON Four to the 5th Fleet; September 2014 – December 2015, as J3 Maritime Operations Watch Officer in the Joint Operations Center at US Central Command.

His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various campaign and unit awards.

As a civilian, he served from 2010 – 2015 as the Senior Advisor to Congressman Robert J. Wittman of Virginia’s 1st District – focusing on the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) portfolio, particularly the Seapower and Readiness subcommittees. Kevin now works in the private sector.
