LCDR Alvis Hall

Past Chief Staff Officer, Naval Surface Group Northwest (CNSGNW)

02 August 2023 In 1996, LCDR Hall enlisted in the U.S Navy, attending boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois. He completed Aircrew and AW “A” schools in Pensacola, Florida. He received his commission via OCS in February 2010. As an AWO, he served as an acoustic instructor and was a member ACINT team conducting collections on submarines. He completed a tour with VP10 Red Lancers and graduated commissioned through Officer Candidate School in Feb 2010.

After completing Officer Candidate School, he was assigned to USS Oscar Austin in Norfolk as the Communications Officer where he completed a C5F deployment. His next assignment was Expeditionary Strike Group 2 as the Materials Officer where he supported Amphibious ships in the yards to accomplish needed maintenance and begin Basic phase. Afterwards he transferred to the University of Washington where he managed Summer Midshipmen travel through the Pacific Northwest, the NROTC Nursing program at Seattle University and the University of Washington. At the University of Washington, he also advised all perspective Surface Warfare Officers and approximately 100 NROTC students. While stationed at the University of Washington, LCDR Hall

He graduated Department head school in Nov 2016. His first Department Head tour was with USS Michael Murphy as the Weapons officer where he completed two C7F deployments and one C4F deployment. His second Department Head tour was with USS Chosin as the Weapons Officer helping to bring the ship out of SLEP.

LCDR Hall's awards include Air Medal (1), Navy Commendation Medal (2), the Navy Achievement Medal (4) as well as various other campaign and unit awards.
