A native of San Antonio, Texas, Command Master Chief (Surface Warfare/Aviation Warfare) Kevin W. Perryman joined the service in April 1993. He completed Storekeeper ''A'' School in August 1993.
His initial assignment was aboard USS Chosin (CG 65), stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. From September 1993 to April 1997, he served as the storeroom storekeeper in Stores Division and while on board, advanced to the rank of petty officer third class.
From May 1997 through March 2000, He served as leading petty officer for Naval Intermediate Maintenance Facility Pearl Harbor, Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility, and Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center Pearl Harbor. At the end of his tour, he advanced to the rank of petty officer second class.
In April 2000, he reported to USS Port Royal (CG 73) as a depot level repair clerk and hazardous material supervisor. He then was named stores division leading petty officer. In 2002, he was promoted to the rank of first class petty officer and assumed the duties as division officer for Stores Division.
In 2004, he transferred to the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Detachment Kaneohe Bay as an instructor. While there, he received his Master Training Specialist Certification, received his Associates in Science in Occupational and Environmental Safety Management from Honolulu Community College and received an Associates of Arts in Business Administration and Vocational Technical Education from Coastline Community College. He was named Leading Petty Officer in the detachment. In 2006, he was then promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
In 2007, he transferred to the USS Lassen (DDG 82). While aboard Lassen, he served as Stores Division Officer, Services Division Leading Chief Petty Officer, and Supply Department Leading Chief Petty Officer. In 2009, he was promoted to the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer and in 2010, transferred to Priority Material Office (PMO) in Bremerton, Washington.
While in transit to PMO Bremerton, he attended Senior Enlisted Academy Class 151. While at PMO Bremerton, he served as the Senior Enlisted Leader. In May 2013, he advanced to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer and transferred to Commander, Naval Air Force, Pacific as an Aviation Maintenance Management Team Inspector, then as a Team Master Chief. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 151 Blue) and CMC/COB course Class 132, and served as Senior Enlisted Leader at Commander Naval Air Forces, Pacific.
He then transferred to HELMARSTRIKERON SEVEN FIVE as the Command Master Chief and served from March 2017 to June 2020. He deployed Carrier Air Wing Eleven on USS Chester Nimitz CVN-68 and USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN 71.
He then transferred to Helicopter Maritime Strike Wing Pacific as the Command Master Chief and served from June 2020 to November 2022.
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal (three awards) and the Navy Achievement Medal (seven awards). Additionally he has received various unit awards.
Command Master Chief Perryman is currently serving as the Command Master Chief for Afloat Training Group Pacific Northwest where he reported in November 2022.
