CDR Lauren Johnson

Commanding Officer, USS Stockdale (DDG 106)

12 August 2023 Commander Lauren Johnson is from Huntsville, Texas.  A surface warfare officer, she is a 2004 graduate of the United States Naval Academy.  She holds a Master of Arts in Defense and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College. 

She served division officer tours as main propulsion officer on USS Tarawa (LHA 1) and training officer in DESRON 23.  As a department head, she served as chief engineer aboard both USS Stockdale (DDG 106) and USS Lake Erie (CG 70).  She has deployed five times to the Indo-Pacific and Arabian Gulf regions participating in Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.  Her most recent assignment was as the executive officer of USS Stockdale (DDG 106).

Ashore, she served as schools and training officer at Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, an instructor at Fleet Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Center, and as assistant director and placement officer in the Surface Officer Career Management Division (PERS 41) at Navy Personnel Command. 

Commander Johnson assumed command of USS Stockdale (DDG 106) in August 2023.
