Executive Officer, USS Lake Champlain (CG 57)

28 August 2023 A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lieutenant Commander Chilman graduated Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy.  

Afloat, Lieutenant Commander Chilman completed his division officer tours aboard the cruiser USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN (CG 57) as the Gunnery & Auxiliaries Officer and then aboard USS DEVASTATOR (MCM 6) as the Navigator. As a Department Head, he served aboard USS JOHN FINN (DDG 113) and USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN (CG 57) as the Chief Engineer and Executive Officer. During his sea tours he deployed to the Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and to 7th Fleet. 

Ashore, Lieutenant Commander Chilman served at LCSRON ONE as the maintenance officer, while earning a Master Business Associates degree at Naval Post Graduate School.

Lieutenant Commander Chilman’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with two Gold Star) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal as well as multiple unit and service awards.
