CMDCM Joseph Czechowski

Command Master Chief, USS Howard (DDG 83)

05 September 2023 Command Master Chief Czechowski is a native of Warren, OH. He enlisted in the United States Navy in June 1999. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he completed Cryptologic Technician Operator “A” school.

Fleet assignments include USS JUNEAU (LPD-10), Sasebo, Japan; COMPHIBGRU ONE, Okinawa, Japan; USS FORREST SHERMAN (DDG-98) Norfolk, VA; USS ROSS (DDG-71), Rota, Spain; USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN-74), Bremerton, WA; and USS NIMITZ (CVN-68), Bremerton, WA.

Ashore, he served at Special United States Liaison Advisor Korea (SUSLAK), Seoul, Korea, Commander Naval Networks Warfare Command, (COMNAVNETWARCOM), Dahlgren, VA; White House Communication Agency (WHCA), Washington, D.C; and Naval Computer and Telecommunication Station, Naples, IT.

Master Chief Czechowski is currently serving as the Senior Enlisted Leader onboard USS HOWARD (DDG-83) home-ported in Yokosuka, Japan. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology from University of Phoenix University. Additionally, Master Chief Czechowski is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 222), and CMC/COB course (Class 23110).

His decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (7 awards), Presidential Service Badge, and various unit campaign awards.
