LCDR Carla K. Salazar

Executive Officer, USS Germantown (LSD 42)

08 September 2023 Originally from Dallas, TX, she attended Arizona State University, earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 2004.  She was commissioned through Officer Candidate School in March 2009.

She completed her first division officer tour as Electrical Officer aboard USS NEW ORLEANS (LPD 18) and then served as Training Officer aboard USS WAYNE E. MEYER (DDG 108). As a department head she served twice as Plans and Tactics Officer, first aboard USS STOCKDALE (DDG 106) and then on USS ANCHORAGE (LPD 23). She was also N5, Future Operations, and N8, Combat Systems Officer, with Destroyer Squadron 23.

Her shore tours include Commander, U.S. Surface Forces, Pacific as an N3 action officer and Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center as an N8 action officer. She also served on the U.S. Third Fleet, N5/7 staff as a Rim of the Pacific 2020 Exercise Planner. While ashore, she earned a Master of Business Administration (Human Resources) from National University.
