Commander Jones is a native of Memphis, Tennessee and a 2007 graduate of Northwood University with a B.S. in Business Administration. He holds a Master of Arts in Security Studies from Naval Postgraduate School.
At sea he completed his division officer tours as Strike and Electrical Officer aboard USS GONZALEZ (DDG 66). Following his tour on USS GONZALEZ, he reported to Expeditionary Strike Group TWO (ESG-2) were he served as the Assistant Current Operations Officer, Scheduling Officer, and Assistant Anti-Terrorism Force Protection Officer. For his department head tours, he served as Weapons Officer and Chief Engineer aboard USS BARRY (DDG 52); and as the Chief Engineer aboard USS PORT ROYAL (CG 73). He is currently serving onboard USS ANTIETAM (CG 54) as the Executive Officer.
Ashore, Commander Jones reported to the Center for Surface Combat Systems Unit Dam Neck, in which he served as the Weapons Department Head, in addition to performing duties as a Tomahawk Cruise Missile Instructor.
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3), and other personal, unit, service, and campaign awards.
