Master Chief Jessica Hardemon is a native of Long Beach, CA, and enlisted in the United States Navy October 2001.

After completing recruit training in Great Lakes, IL, and the Airman Apprentice Training Program in Pensacola, FL, she reported to USS BATAAN (LHD 5) in Norfolk, VA, where she struck into the Operations Specialist (OS) rating. Following this tour, she reported to USS MOBILE BAY (CG 53) in San Diego, CA where she completed Air Intercept Controller (AIC) training earning the callsign “Coach”. After completing these tours of duty, she transferred to Navy Recruiting District Los Angeles, CA, where she served as the Leading Petty Officer of Navy Recruiting Stations (NRS) San Pedro and Hawthorne. During this tour, she was initiated into the Chief Petty Officer ranks.

Her next tour of duty was USS DECATUR (DDG 73), San Diego, CA, where she served as the Leading Chief Petty Officer and Air Intercept Controller Supervisor. Next, she reported to Navy Recruiting District Richmond, VA, where she served as an Officer Recruiter. Following these tours, she transferred to the Center for Surface Combat Systems Detachment Norfolk, VA, where she served as an Instructor. During this tour, she was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer. Her follow-on tour of duty was to USS MASON (DDG 87) where she served as Leading Chief Petty Officer and Air Intercept Controller Supervisor.

In February 2021, she was selected to the Command Senior Enlisted Leader program. Shortly after, in the absence of a Command Master Chief, she served as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader onboard USS NORMANDY (CG 60). Her next tour of duty was Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps San Diego Consortium. In October 2023, she reported to Beachmaster Unit One (BMU 1) where she serves as the Command Master Chief.

Master Chief Hardemon is a graduate of the United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 206 Blue), CMC/COB Course (Class 100), and holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from the University of Charleston.

Master Chief Hardemon’s personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy Achievement Medal (five awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and various unit and campaign awards. She was awarded the Senior Enlisted Academy Alumni Associate, Peter Tomich Distinguished Graduate Award. Additionally, she is qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialists.
