Command Senior Chief, USS Warrior (MCM 10)

31 January 2024 CMDCS (SW) Hoffman is a 1996 graduate of Munising high School, Munising Mi. He entered the Navy in August of 1996 and attended Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois followed by Gunners Mate “A” in Great Lakes IL. After completing his first contract he was honorably discharged into the Active Naval Reserves where he served until 2005 while earning his BS in Criminal Justice from Northern Michigan University. He was then mobilized in Dec 2005 to deploy to Baghdad, Iraq with the Army 414th Civil Affairs HHC, returning in April 2007. He rejoined active Naval service in June of 2007. After attending the NAVET program he completed Crew Served Weapons Instructor, 5” Mk 45 Mods 2 and 4 LWG “C”, and Ammunition Administrator schools before reporting to USS LASSEN DDG 82 June 2008. He is a June 2021 Dean’s list graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, and graduated CMC/COB in October 2023

His sea duty assignments include USS BELLEAU WOOD LHA 3 (Sasebo, Japan), USS LASSEN DDG 82 (Yokosuka, Japan), and USS MUSTIN DDG 82 (Yokosuka, Japan).

Shore duty assignments include Ship Repair Facility (Yokosuka, Japan), ATG Western Pacific (Yokosuka, Japan), and NMCPACEAD, (Sasebo, Japan).

He was selected for the CMDCS program in Feb 2023 and is designated Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist. He has been awarded the Bronze Star, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3rd award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3rd award), Army Achievement Medal (3rd award), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (7th award), and various other unit and campaign awards.
