Commander Danley was raised in Norfolk, Virginia and graduated from Ohio State University with a B.S. in Biochemistry in 2006.

At sea, CDR Danley completed division officer tours on USS NITZE (DDG-94) as First Lieutenant and OI Division Officer and as division officer in Machinery Division on USS ENTERPRISE (CVN-65). After attending department head school, he served as Operations Officer on USS CHUNG-HOON (DDG 93) and then Commanding Officer on USS TEMPEST (PC-2) while forward deployed in Manama, Bahrain. Most recently, he served as Reactor Training Assistant on USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70) during her FY2019 Dry-docking Planned Incremental Availability.

CDR Danley served ashore at Nuclear Power Training Unit Charleston as Shift Engineer on Moored Training Ship 626. While ashore he earned a Master of Engineering Management from Old Dominion University.

CDR Danley assumed command of USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60) in February of 2024. Previously, he served as the ship’s Executive Officer.

His personal awards include various personal, unit, and campaign awards.
