CDR Brandon Bonton

EXECUTIVE OFFICER, USS CURTIS WILBUR (DDG 54)

22 February 2024 Commander Brandon Bonton is a native of Houston, Texas and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2008 where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

Afloat, he served as Electrical Officer, First Lieutenant, and Anti-submarine Warfare Officer in USS ANZIO (CG 68), Damage Control Assistant in USS PORTER (DDG 78), Chief Engineer in USS HALSEY (DDG 97), and Combat Systems Officer in USS JOHN S MCCAIN (DDG 56) while forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan.

His ashore assignments include Surface Warfare Officers School, where he served as a Basic Division Officer Course Instructor, at Carrier Strike Group 15 as the Director of Opposition Forces, and the N7 Assistant for Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet.

Commander Bonton earned a Master of Engineering in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.

His awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit and service awards.
