A native of Yorba Linda, California, Master Chief Carpenter joined the Navy in April, 2000. After his initial training, he received follow on training at Damage Control “A” School and entered the Fleet as a Damage Control Fireman Recruit.
Master Chief Carpenter’s operational assignments include USS CONSTELLATION (CV 64), USS HUE-CITY (CG 66), USS WAYNE E. MEYER (DDG 108), USS TRIPOLI (LHA 7) and USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70).
Ashore, Master Chief Carpenter served as a firefighting instructor at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes and a Damage Control assessor and trainer at Afloat Training Group Mayport, FL. He has qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, to include Master and Afloat Training Specialist.
He has earned numerous medals and unit campaign awards throughout his career.
He is also a graduate from the U.S. Navy’s Senior Enlisted Academy Class 204 Orange, as well as the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course. He currently serves onboard USS CHUNG-HOON (DDG 93) as the Command Master Chief.
