Command Senior Chief Jones is a native of Pensacola, Florida and grew up in San Diego, California. He graduated from El Cajon Valley High School with honors, in 2006 and reported for Navy boot camp the same year, completing basic training in Great Lakes, Illinois and Storekeeper “A” school in Meridian, Mississippi.
His tours as a Storekeeper and Logistics Specialist include USS FRANK CABLE (AS 40) in Guam; Airborne Command and Control Squadron ONE ONE SIX, Sun Kings, in Point Mugu, California, deployed onboard USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; Navy Supply Fleet Logistics Center Puget Sound in Bremerton, Washington; and an Individual Augmentee deployment to Afghanistan as a supply advisor.
He graduated Command Career Counselor school with honors in San Diego, California and continued his career as a Navy Counselor. He was assigned to Electronic Attack Squadron ONE FOUR ZERO, Patriots, as the Command Career Counselor, transitioning to EA-18G Growlers, deployed onboard USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN 75) in support of Operation Inherent Resolve; Commander, Submarine Squadron FIFTEEN as the Immediate Superior in Command, Career Counselor in Guam, advanced to Chief Petty Officer; Pre-Commissioning Unit JOHN F. KENNEDY (CVN 79) as the Senior Career Counselor in Newport News, Virginia, advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer; Commander, Navy Region Southwest as the Region Career Counselor in San Diego, California.
He is currently assigned as the Senior Enlisted Leader to USS CINCINNATI (LCS 20) in San Diego, California.
He a graduate of the Command Master Chief course, Senior Enlisted Academy class 245 (Khaki) and has earned his Bachelor’s Degree, Cum Laude, from American Military University. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Air Force Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (three awards) and various unit and campaign awards. He is authorized to wear the Enlisted Surface, Aviation and Information Warfare Specialist insignias.
