Command Senior Chief Dejesus is a native of Philadelphia, PA, and graduated from Community Academy of Philadelphia in 2007. She enlisted in the United States Navy in August 2007 at the Military Entrance Processing Station, Fort Dix, New Jersey. Upon completion of recruit training, she attended Aviation Ordnance “A” School at Naval Air Technical Training Command Pensacola, FL. 

Dejesus’ sea tours consist of Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron 14 (HM-14) at Naval Air Station Norfolk, VA. Serving as Ordnance QASO; completing three deployments to U.S. Naval Forces Korea and operation Continuing Promise aboard USS Boxer (LHD 4), Patrol and Reconnaissance Squadron 26 (VP-26) at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL. Serving as Safe-For-Flight and Quality Assurance LPO; completing three deployments to SEVENTH Fleet Area of Responsibility, Helicopter Maritime Strike squadron 46 (HSM-46) at Naval Station Mayport, FL. Serving as the Ordnance and Paraloft LCPO, and USS Boxer (LHD 4) where she served as the Weapons Department LCPO.

Dejesus’ shore tours consist of Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX-1) at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD. Where she served as Ordnance LPO; completing six detachments to the THIRD Fleet Area of Responsibility and Mine Countermeasure efforts aboard USS Independence (LCS 2), and NTAG Philadelphia; where she served as the Senior Enlisted Leader.

Command Senior Chief Deseret M. Dejesus is currently assigned to USS KANSAS CITY (LCS 22) in San Diego, CA. Dejesus was selected for the Command Senior Enlisted Leader (CSEL) program as a Command Senior Chief (CMDCS) in February of 2024. Dejesus holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management, is a graduate of the Navy’s Senior Enlisted Academy, (Class 249), and the Command Leadership CMC/COB Course (Class 267). Dejesus’ decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (8), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, along with numerous service and campaign awards.
