CDR Moody is a native of Meridian, MS., graduated in 2007 from Hampton University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and earned his commission through the NROTC Program. He graduated from National University in 2015 with a Master’s of Science in Cyber Security.
At sea, he served as the 2nd Division Officer in Deck Department aboard USS Essex (LHD 2); CIC and Operations Officer aboard USS Defender (MCM 2); Damage Control Assistant aboard USS John S. McCain (DDG 56); Plans and Tactics Officer aboard USS Antietam (CG 54); Administration Officer, Operations Officer, and Staff Director aboard COMDESRON 23 (CDS 23).
His shore tours include service as Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Mine Warfare (MIW) Instructor at Mine Warfare Training Center (MWTC); Mine Warfare Tactics Instructor at Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center; and Joint Service as the J3 for the UN Enforcement Coordination Cell aboard USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19).
CDR Moody’s personal awards and decorations include Joint and Navy Commendation Medals and Navy Achievement medals.
