COMMAND SENIOR CHIEF, USS FORT WORTH (LCS 3)

11 July 2024 Senior Chief Daphness is a native of Queens, New York. He enlisted on September 10, 2001, and attended Recruit Training Command (RTC), Great Lakes, IL before reporting on board the USS Enterprise CVN 65.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management from American Military University, PSI Certified, Associate Business Coordinator. He is a graduate of the Navy War College's Senior Enlisted Academy Class 203 (Green), Newport, RI.

Senior Chief Daphness fleet assignments include: Jan 2002-Apr 2006: USS Enterprise CVN 65 Norfolk, VA, Dec 2009- Dec 2011: USNS Sacagawea T- AKE 2 Earle, NJ, Jan 2012-Jul 2013: USS Germantown LSD 42 Sasebo, Japan , Aug 2013-Sep 2014: VAW 121 E-2D Hawkeye Norfolk, VA ,Oct 2017-Oct 2020: USS Rushmore LSD 47 San Diego, CA, Jan 2024- May 2024: USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN 71, San Diego, CA.

Senior Chief Daphness shore assignments include: May 2006-Nov 2009: Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA, Sep 2014- Sep 2017: NAVSUP FLC Norfolk, Site Earle, NJ, Sep 2020- Jan 2024: NMRTC Camp Pendleton, CA.

Operational assignments include: Centcom Deployment, Iron Magic, Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom deployment, Operation Unified Response, Operation New Dawn, Cobra Gold, Taliman Sabrem, Dawn Blitz, Steel Knight, Iron Fist, MEU- EX, Carax, Sustex, and Carat Indonesia, Western Pacific Deployment 2024.

He assumed his position as S8 LCPO onboard USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN 71 in Jan 2024. Senior Chief Daphness was recently selected to the rate of Command Senior Chief Feb 2024 and assumed the title and position of the CMDCS of the USS Fort Worth LCS 3 May 2024.

Senior Chief Daphness is designated as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist. His personal awards include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Four awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Five awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer medal (Two awards), Humanitarian Service medal as well as numerous unit, campaign, and service awards.
