LCDR Travis Turner

COMMANDING OFFICER, USS PATRIOT (MCM 7)

16 July 2024 Lieutenant Commander Travis Turner is a native of Leander, Texas and commissioned from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2011 with a degree in Electrical Engineering.

His Division Officer tours were in USS Higgins (DDG-76) as the Auxiliaries Officer and as the Strike Officer, then as Navigator of Littoral Combat Ship Crew 103, embarking in USS Freedom (LCS-1) out of San Diego and in USS Fort Worth (LCS-3) deployed out of Singapore. LCDR Turner’s Department Head Tours were as Chief Engineer in USS Spruance (DDG-111) and as Chief Engineer in USS New Orleans (LPD-18) forward deployed in Sasebo, Japan. LCDR Turner has operational experience in the FIFTH and SEVENTH Fleets. 

His shore assignment was spent at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering and completed Joint Professional Military Education Phase 1.

LCDR Turner is currently serving as Commanding Officer in USS PATRIOT (MCM 7).
