LCDR Raymond V. Piana

Commanding Officer, USS WARRIOR (MCM 10)

20 August 2024 Lieutenant Commander Raymond Velayo Piana is a native of Cabarroguis, Philippines and received his citizenship on the island of Guam. He received his commission from the United States Naval Academy in May 2011.

His first command was on USS DEFENDER (MCM 2) based in Sasebo, Japan where he served as an engineering division officer and ultimately as the Assistant Operations Officer. He then selected orders in 2014, to USS ASHLAND (LSD 48) as the Navigation Officer. In 2016, he selected shore tour orders to Afloat Training Group Western Pacific Detachment Sasebo where he was billeted as the Officer in Charge, and where he also completed his Masters of Business Administration degree.

Following his shore tour, he completed Department Head school and returned to USS ASHLAND (LSD 48) in 2019 as the Operations Officer. Upon completion of his tour in 2021, he selected orders to USS GREEN BAY (LPD 20) as the Plans and Tactics Officer. He recently completed his tour as Executive Officer onboard USS WARRIOR (MCM 10), and is now serving as the current Commanding Officer.

His awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (5 awards) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal
