Command Senior Chief David Gloria is a native of Olongapo City, Philippines and was raised in northern California. He enlisted in the United States Navy on July 2001. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command (RTC), Great Lakes, IL, he reported to Hospital Corpsman “A” School and then to Field Medical Service School.
Upon graduation, he reported for duty to Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twenty nine Palms, CA, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. His fleet assignments include, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Medical Battalion, Fleet Surgical Team NINE, Commander, Amphibious Squadron SEVEN, and USS PRINCETON (CG 59). Senior Chief Gloria has multiple boots on ground combat deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Inherent Resolve. In addition, Senior Chief Gloria completed shore assignments at Naval Medical Center San Diego and Naval Health Clinic Hawaii.
Senior Chief Gloria holds a Bachelors of Health Sciences with the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUSH) and is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Senior Chief Gloria has earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and the Enlisted Fleet Marine Force Warfare Specialist. Additionally, Senior Chief Gloria graduated from the CMC/COB Class 24090 and the Senior Enlisted Academy (SEA) class 220.
He currently serves as the Command Senior Chief on board USS MONTGOMERY (LCS 8).
His decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 awards), Combat Action Ribbon, and various unit and campaign awards.
