CDR Nathan C. Farish

CDR Nathan Farish hails from Mobile, AL, and graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

At sea, he served as Main Propulsion Division Officer aboard the USS Essex (LHD 2) and the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), and as Fire Control Officer aboard the USS John Paul Jones (DDG 53). During his department head tours, he served on the USS Rafael Peralta (DDG 115) as Weapons Officer and Plans and Tactics Officer.

Ashore, CDR Farish earned a master’s degree in Space Systems Operations from the Naval Postgraduate School and graduated from the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI) course. He was also a plankowner of the Navy Integrated Fires Element (NIFE), serving as the first permanently stationed Maritime Watch Officer at Navy Information Operations Command-Colorado. He most recently served as the Live Fire with a Purpose (LFWAP) Director at the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center.

CDR Farish is currently serving as the Executive Officer in USS ZUMWALT (DDG 1000).

His personal awards include three Navy Commendation Medals, five Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and various personal, unit and service awards.
