CDR Osei Asante

Executive Officer, USS San Diego (LPD 22)

10 January 2025 CDR Osei Asante is a native of Houston, Texas and commissioned through the United States Naval Academy. His first sea tour was aboard USS McCLUSKY (FFG 41) in San Diego, CA. There he served as the Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer and Repair Officer. During this tour, they conducted one deployment to the Fourth AOR to conduct CIT operations. His second division officer tour was onboard USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN (CG 57) as the Main Propulsion Assistant.

His first shore assignment was to the United States Naval Academy where he was assigned to the Seamanship and Navigation department where he instructed, mentored, and trained Midshipmen in facets of shiphandling, navigation, and seamanship.

His department head tours were onboard USS KIDD (DDG 100) and USS MOBILE BAY (CG 53) where he served as the Chief Engineer. During both tours, he guided both engineering departments through MOB E certifications and later deployed with both ships to Fourth and Seventh fleet AORs.

His most recent shore assignment was as the Littoral Combat Ship deputy at Engineering Assessments Pacific.

His personal awards include the: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2).
