Commander Jeff deLongpre, a native of Rochester, Minnesota, was commissioned in December 2006 after completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Studies and the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) program at the University of Minnesota.
Afloat, CDR deLongpre completed his first Division Officer tour aboard USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) as the Auxiliaries Division Officer and Main Propulsion Division Officer. During his tour, he deployed to 5th Fleet. His second Division Officer tour was as Training Officer aboard USS Vandegrift (FFG 48). During his tour he deployed to 7th Fleet in support of CARAT and Pacific Partnership. For his first Department Head tour, he reported to USS Rafael Peralta (DDG 115) as the commissioning Operations Officer. During his tour, he deployed to 7th Fleet in support of Pacific Partnership 2018 onboard USNS Brunswick (T-EPF 6) and USNS Mercy (T-AH 19). His second Department Head tour was as Combat Systems Officer aboard USS Mobile Bay (CG 53). During his tour, he circumnavigated the globe in support of John C Stennis Strike Group.
Ashore, CDR deLongpre attended the Naval Postgraduate School and earned a Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering Analysis. He then was an instructor at SWOS International in Newport, RI. For his second shore tour, he served as Assessments Department Head (N44) and Deputy Maintenance Officer (N43A) for Commander Naval Surface Group Western Pacific in Yokosuka, Japan.
His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), and various unit awards.
