Commander Lock, a native of Doylestown, Pa., graduated in 2009 from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and was commissioned through the NROTC Program.
At sea, she served as Main Propulsion Officer and Communications Officer aboard USS SAMPSON (DDG 102), deploying in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Next, she served as Damage Control Assistant aboard USS LABOON (DDG 58), supporting Operation Jukebox Lotus and participating in Ballistic Missile Defense Exercises ATLANTIC SHIELD/ATLANTIC SENTRY in the Sixth Fleet area of operation. Most recently, she served as Chief Engineer, Combat Systems Officer, Weapons Officer and Operations Officer aboard USS WILLIAM P. LAWRENCE (DDG 110), deploying to Seventh Fleet in support of INDOPACOM initiatives and again to Fourth Fleet, supporting Joint Interagency Task Force South.
Her shore tours include service as a Concepts, Technology and Integration Analyst at the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC). She also served as an antisubmarine and surface warfare tactics instructor (ASW/SUW WTI) and the tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP) manager at the Surface Advanced Warfighting School (SAWS). Most recently, she completed a political-military fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, earning a Master’s in International Public Policy.
