CDR Colleen Benjamin

Executive Officer, USS MIGUEL KEITH (ESB 5) GOLD CREW

28 April 2025 CDR Colleen Benjamin joined the Navy in 2010 from the United States Naval Academy.  Upon graduation, she reported to USS HUE CITY (CG-66), homeported in Mayport, Florida where she served as the Main Propulsion Officer.  After HUE CITY, she reported to COMDESRON TWO-THREE where she worked in the N-4 shop, including six months as N-4.

After completing Department Head school in 2016, she reported to USS BENFOLD (DDG-65), forward deployed to C7F in Yokosuka, Japan, as Chief Engineer, supporting C7F BMD missions including Defense of Guam.  In 2017, LCDR Benjamin reported to USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC-19) as First Lieutenant where she completed a full patrol with 12 port calls in support of Theater Security Cooperation operations.

In 2019, LCDR Benjamin reported to the Surface Warfare Schools Command as the Boatswain’s Mate and Quartermaster Rate Lead.  In 2024, she completed her Master of Arts in National Security Affairs from the Naval War College.  In April 2025, she reported aboard USS MIGUEL KEITH (ESB 5) Gold MILCREW as Executive Officer.

Her military decorations include four Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, one Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit campaign and service awards.
