Command Master Chief Khorshed, a native of Roseville, Minnesota, graduated from Roseville Area High School in 1996. He joined the Navy in January 2001 and attended Basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon graduation, he followed on to Basic Engineering Common Core and was assigned to USS Arctic (AOE 8). While aboard, he deployed to the Horn of Africa and the Persian Gulf to support Operation Enduring Freedom.
In 2002, he returned to Service Schools, Great Lakes, where he completed Engineering Electrical Core and Electrician’s Mate “A” School. In November 2002, he reported to Amphibious Construction Battalion Two (ACB 2), Little Creek, Virginia, and deployed as an individual augment as an Arabic translator for Joint Task Force, Guantanamo.
In 2007, he reported to USS Enterprise (CVN 65). While aboard, he completed a deployment supporting Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and the Global War on Terrorism Campaign. In July 2009, he reported to Naval Operational Support Center in Newport, RI. In 2011, he was tested, selected, and initiated as a Chief Petty Officer.
In 2012, Command Master Chief Khorshed completed the Senior Enlisted Propulsion Engineering course and reported to USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) as Electrical and Auxiliary’s Division Leading Chief Petty Officer. While aboard, he completed two deployments supporting the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group.
In 2016, Command Master Chief completed Maintenance and Material Management (3-M) Coordinator school and reported to USS Dextrous (MCM 13). In 2017, he reported to Naval Surface Squadron FIVE (CNSS 5), Manama, Bahrain, and was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer. He served as the immediate superior in charge 3-M coordinator and then as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader . During his tour, he also served as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader for Command Task Force Five-Seven for five months. In 2019, Command Master Chief Khorshed reported to USS Devastator (MCM 6) and was promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer. Recently, he served as the Command Master Chief aboard USS Benfold (DDG 65) from February 2023 to May 2025.
Command Master Chief Khorshed serves as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader at Command Naval Surface Group, Western Pacific, Yokosuka, Japan. Command Master Chief is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (class 239 Brown), the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course and the Command Master Chief, Major Command course. He has been awarded the Meritouris Service Medeal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy Achievement Medal (seven awards), and various campaign and service medals.
