Commander Kyle Moyer is a 2007 graduate of The Ohio State University where he commissioned through the Seaman to Admiral 21 Program, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics (Cum Laude). Additionally, he holds a Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering Analysis from The Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA.
At sea, he served as Main Propulsion and Communications Officer, USS OAK HILL (LSD 51); Damage Control Assistant, USS FORREST SHERMAN (DDG 98); Combat Systems Officer, USS MESA VERDE (LPD 19); Operations Officer, USS MONTEREY (CG 61); N3 and Chief Staff Officer, COMPHIBRON FOUR; Flag Secretary, ESG-2; and Executive Officer, USS CHARLESTON (LCS 18) GOLD and most recently as Executive Officer, USS TULSA (LCS 16) BLUE.
Ashore, he served as the LCS Training Pilot Program Lead at Afloat Training Group San Diego.
Currently, he serves as the Commanding Officer, USS TULSA (LCS 16) BLUE.
He was recognized as the 2018 SURFLANT SWO of the Year. Additionally, his awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various personal, unit and service awards
