Cdr. Lileks is a native of Lusby, Maryland. He is a 2009 graduate of The Pennsylvania State University and commissioned through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps program.
At sea, he served as Assistant Chief of Staff for Administration (N1) and Flag Secretary for Commander, Carrier Strike Group 9 onboard USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71); Chief Engineer of USS Benfold (DDG 65); Main Propulsion Assistant of USS Independence (LCS 2); and Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer of USS Ross (DDG 71). He deployed to the Western Pacific in support of national tasking and strengthening regional alliances and partnerships; Gulf of Aden in support of counter-piracy; and Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Ashore, he served as directorate lead of Ballistic Missile Defense and Integrated Air Missile Defense, as well as Executive Assistant for Commander, U.S. Third Fleet; and Communication Security Officer for Littoral Combat Ship Squadron 2.
Lileks holds a Master’s Degree from University of the Southwest, a Bachelor’s Degree from Penn State, and an Associate’s Degree from College of Southern Maryland. He also received various unit and individual awards.
