CDR Alban “Al” Dervishi

Commanding Officer, USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52)

27 June 2025 Commander Alban “Al” Dervishi is a native of Tirana, Albania that immigrated for the American Dream to Queens, NY. After High School he Enlisted in 2001, and received a Commission in 2009 through Officer Candidate School. He earned a Masters in International Relations with a subspecialty in European Regional Studies and NATO Alliance from Webster University in conjunction with the Army Command and General Staff College.

Operational assignments include deployments onboard USS BATAAN (LHD-5) in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM 2001-2004; Onboard USS CARTER HALL (LSD-50) supporting Operation UNIFIED RESPONSE in Haiti and operations in the 5th Fleet area of operations 2009-2012; Onboard USS ASHLAND (LSD-48) supporting operations in the 7th Fleet area of operations 2016-2018; Onboard USS MOUNT WHITNEY (LCC-20) in support of multiple NATO, U.S. 2nd Fleet and U.S. 6th Fleet exercises in the Baltic Sea, Black Sea and Mediterranean Sea 2018-2020. His most recent assignment was Executive Officer of USS PEARL HARBOR (LSD-52).

Ashore, he served as Deputy Watchfloor Director of Sixth Fleet Command Center; He earned the patch of an Amphibious Warfare Tactics Instructor and served as N4 of AMPHIBIOUS SQUADRON EIGHT. Flexible within the staff he also assumed the gapped position of Executive Officer of USS MESA VERDE (LPD-19); he completed his NATO Joint Tour as an Operation Officer of the Italian Maritime Component Command in support of multiple TRI-CARRIER multinational operations.

Commander Dervishi’s military awards include Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3) and various unit commendations and service/campaign awards.

Commander Dervishi assumed command of USS PEARL HARBOR (LSD-52) in June 2025.
