CDR Daniel Reed

Executive Officer, USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52)

27 June 2025 A native of Fernandina Beach, Florida, CDR Dan Reed graduated from the University of Florida in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and commissioned through the UF NROTC program. He earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration through the University of Florida in 2016.

Operational assignments include Division Officer tours aboard the cruiser USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN (CG 57) as the Gunnery Officer and Strike Officer, USS HALSEY (DDG 97) as the Fire Control Officer. He completed two deployments to 5th Fleet in support of counter-piracy operations. He served two Department Head tours in USS DONALD COOK (DDG 75) as the Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer, which included five FDNF-E patrols supporting C6F Ballistic Missile Defense missions and a host of NATO and coalition exercises. He served on the staff of Amphibious Squadron SEVEN as the Plans Officer (N5) and then Operations Officer (N3), supporting UNITAS 2021 and deployment work-ups with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit.

Ashore, he served as a Naval Science Instructor at Vanderbilt University NROTC in Nashville, TN. Following Department Head and PHIBRON staff tours, he reported to Afloat Training Group San Diego, where he served first as a Mariner Skills Week Senior Assessor and then as the Director of Operations (N3).

He reported to USS Pearl Harbor as Executive Officer in June 2025.
