LCDR Joseph M. Barone

EXECUTIVE OFFICER, USS PATRIOT (MCM 7)

25 June 2025 Lieutenant Commander Barone graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Degree in Rhetoric and Writing. He commissioned in May 2014 through the Naval ROTC program.

He has served aboard USS HIGGINS (DDG 76) as the Communications Officer, USS VELLA GULF (CG 72) as the Damage Control Assistant, and USS CARL M. LEVIN (DDG 120) as the Plankowner Chief Engineer.

Ashore, Lieutenant Commander Barone taught Anti-Submarine Warfare at the Surface Warfare Officers School in Newport, Rhode Island.

His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various service awards.
