Command Master Chief Larry Booker, a Lufkin, Texas native, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in December 2000 and attended Basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon graduation, he followed on to Signalman “A” school and was assigned to USS Anchorage (LSD-36). While aboard, he deployed to the Persian Gulf to support Operation Enduring Freedom. He graduated from Operations Specialist “A” School January 2004. 

At sea, he served aboard USS Bunker Hill (CG-52), Fleet Maritime Patrol Mobile Operations Control Center Mediterranean in Sigonella, Sicily, Commander Task Force 52 (CTF-52), Manama, Bahrain and USS Arleigh Burke (DDG-51), Rota, Spain. In 2024, Command Master Chief Booker reported to USS Augusta (LCS 34) as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader and was promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer. 

Ashore, he served onboard Navy Recruiting District Dallas, Navy Recruiting District New Orleans and Navy Talent Acquisition Group Pacific Northwest in Seattle, Washington. 

Command Master Chief Booker serves as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader aboard USS Benfold (DDG-65).

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and a Associates degree in Elementary Education. He is a graduate of the United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (class 244 Blue) and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course. 

His decorations include: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), and various service and campaign medals.
