CDR Nathan C. Calcamuggio

Executive Officer, USS Dewey (DDG 105)

25 September 2025 Commander Nathan Calcamuggio is a native of Lambertville, Michigan. He enlisted in the US Navy in 2003 and earned a commission through the STA-21 Program at Purdue University, graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Social Sciences from Syracuse University.

Commander Calcamuggio completed division officer tours aboard USS HOPPER (DDG 70) as Strike and USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) as a Main Propulsion Officer. He later served aboard USS DONALD COOK (DDG 75) as the Operations Officer and USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76) as the Reactor Electrical Assistant. Finally, he commanded USS CHINOOK (PC 9), earning the Battle E award.

Ashore, Commander Calcamuggio served as a Shift Engineer on the SAM RAYBURN (MTS 635) and as a Special Assistant to the Supreme Allied Commander Europe / Commander US European Command. Most recently, he served as the Chief Staff Officer for Destroyer Squadron 15.
