Command Senior Chief, USS Augusta (LCS 34)

17 November 2025 Senior Chief Ruff was raised in the inner city of Cincinnati, Ohio, he moved to Lexington KY where he completed high school and ultimately enlisted in the United States Navy in August 2005.

Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois he reported to Lackland Air Force Base, in San Antonio, Texas where he completed Culinary Specialist “A” School.

Upon graduation, he reported for duty onboard LPD 10 USS JUNEAU/ LPD 09 USS DENVER (Sasebo Japan) where he served as Cook on Watch, Night Crew, Wardroom Supervisor, and CO’s Cook. Earning his ESWS as a Seaman Apprentice. His assignments include CG 70 USS LAKE ERIE(P.H, Hawaii) Records Keeper/Galley Supervisor, U.S NAVAL HOSPITAL NAPLES(Naples, Italy) Galley Supervisor, S-2 Leading Petty Officer, Leading CS, Decontamination Team Lead, DDG 73 USS DECATUR(San Diego, California) Leading CS, S-2 Leading Petty Officer, Command Master at Arms, Galley Chief, PC 5 USS TYPHOON(Manama, Bahrain) Command CS, Weapons/Deck Leading Petty Officer, ASUPPO, 3MC, CCC, US NAVAL AIR STATION ATSUGI(Atsugi, Japan) Unaccompanied Housing Leading Petty Officer, Galley and Unaccompanied Housing Leading Chief Petty Officer, NAS Atsugi Transient ROM Coordinator for the 7th Fleet AOR. From there he reported to Naval Beach Unit 7 were he was Leading CS, Supply DLCPO and interim CSEL.

He holds an Associate in General Studies degree from University of Maryland, and United Services Military Apprenticeship Program Certification for Food Service Manager and Computer Operator.
