A native of Ocean Springs, MS, CDR Bradford graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations.
A career surface warfare officer, CDR Bradford has deployed to the 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility. His shipboard assignments include: USS VICKSBURG (CG 69) as Ordnance Officer and Strike Officer, USS DE WERT (FFG 45) as Navigator, and USS DETROIT (LCS 7) as Combat Systems Officer and Operations Officer during the first ever deployment of an East Coast-based LCS. He had the distinct honor of being selected for early command and serving as the final Commanding Officer of USS TYPHOON (PC 5), a forward-deployed coastal patrol craft homeported in Manama, Bahrain.
Ashore, CDR Bradford attended the Naval Postgraduate School, earning a Master of Science in Systems Engineering Analysis. While assigned to the N9DW directorate of the Chief of Naval Operations’ staff, he worked on the transition and procurement of cutting-edge technology in support of advanced kill webs for Navy and Joint offensive long-range fires at every classification level. In 2022 he was selected as a Service Chief Fellow for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), completing a rotation providing military advice and expertise on autonomous surface and subsurface vessel programs as well as other classified efforts. During the 119th Congress, CDR Bradford served as a Defense Legislative Fellow in the personal office of Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS), the Ranking Member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
CDR Bradford is currently the Executive Officer for USS TULSA (LCS 16) Gold.
His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and various other personal, unit, and service awards.
