Senior Chief Miller enlisted in the United States Navy out of Qunicy, IL in July of 2000.  He completed Recruit Basic Training in Great Lakes, IL and reported to Student Training Center Great Lakes for Technical Core training and Fire Controlman “A” School.

His Sea Duty assignments include tours aboard USS ANCHORAGE (LSD 36), USS STETHEM (DDG 63), USS PINCKNEY (DDG 91), and two tours aboard USS CURTIS WILBUR (DDG 54).  During his assignments he earned designations as Anti-terrorism Watch Officer, Combat Systems Officer of the Watch, Combat Systems Coordinator, Surface Warfare Coordinator, and Air Warfare Coordinator.

His lone shore assignment was with Afloat Training Group Western Pacific where he served as Combat Systems and Strike Warfare Training Team Leader. 

Senior Chief Miller is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 233).  He is Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Afloat Training Specialist, and Master Training Specialist qualified and he holds Navy Enlisted Classifications as Combat Systems Senior Enlisted, Harpoon Engagement Planning Operator, MK 160 Mods 4-16 Technician, Close-In Weapon System Block 1B Technician, Ammunition Inventory Management Specialist, Instructor, and Command Fitness Leader.

His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), and Sea Service Ribbon (11 awards) but he is most proud of the two Battle Efficiency ‘E’ Awards he earned aboard STETHEM and CURTIS WILBUR as a result of the phenomenal crews he was privileged to serve with.

Senior Chief Miller currently serves as the Senior Enlisted Leader of PCU CARL M. LEVIN (DDG 120).
