Leaders to Sea Description:
The Leaders to Sea program helps educate civilian community leaders who have not had prior exposure to Naval surface operations about the U.S. Navy, its operational assets, and its people. Embarkations aboard our warships provide unique opportunities to foster citizen awareness and understanding for the role, mission and need for the Navy, and the importance of surface combatants. These visits also highlight the continual training Sailors receive - keeping our forces ready for any contingency.

These one-day at-sea adventures generally consist of an early morning helicopter flight or small boat transfer to a U.S. Navy warship off the coast of Southern California. On board, guests receive a comprehensive shipboard tour, various demonstrations, and lunch with the crew. Guests are returned to San Diego at approximately 4 p.m.
