02 October 2021 211002-N-FA490-2003 APRA HARBOR, GUAM (Oct. 02, 2021) Engineman 2nd Class Jacob Costello, from New Bedford, Mass., transits the mission bay aboard the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Jackson (LCS 6) while securing for sea. Jackson, part of Destroyer Squadron Seven, is on a rotational deployment, is operating in the U.S. 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force in support of free and open Indo-Pacific region.
