The seven newest Amphibious Warfare (AMW) Warfare Tactics Instructors (WTIs) completed Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC’s) AMW WTI course of instruction and graduated onboard Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story Friday December 4th. Each new WTI receives a graduation certificate, the WTI patch that will be worn on their Type III Navy working uniforms, and a SMWDC AMW Division coin. The newest graduates include Marine Corps Maj. Nathan Bedle, Lt. Chris Hebig, Lt. Katie Griffin, Lt. Nick Gonsalves, Lt. Alexander Hoersten, Lt. Charles Marshall and Lt. Paul Hast. SMWDC accepts applications from top-talented junior Surface Warfare Officers and develops them into one of four surface warfare WTI specialties – AMW, integrated air and missile defense, anti-submarine warfare/surface warfare, or mine warfare.
