Tim Labenz, deputy commodore of Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 7, during an exchange of command ceremony on the flight deck of the Independence-variant littoral combat ship. Tulsa Blue crew relieved Tulsa Gold following five months of operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. Tulsa, part of DESRON 7, is on a rotational deployment, operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet AOR to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
