Master Chief Jared D. Mueller is a native of Indio, Calif., and enlisted in the United States Navy April 1997. He attended Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Ill.
Mueller’s sea duty assignments include duty on aircraft carriers and amphibious ships. During these tours, he deployed to the Western Pacific on multiple occasions. He served as a Crash Crewman and Aviation Boatswains Mate onboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72); Crash and Salvage Lead Petty Officer and Flight Deck Lead Chief Petty Officer onboard USS Nimitz (CVN 68); Air Department Lead Chief Petty Officer and Commissioning Coordinator onboard USS Anchorage (LPD 23); Air Department V-1 Division Lead Chief Petty Officer and Flight Deck Officer onboard USS Essex (LHD 2).
His shore tours include service at Goodfellow Air Force Base, San Angelo, Tex., where he attended the Luis F. Garland Fire Academy; Airfield Crash Captain and Aviation Boatswain Mate at Naval Station Rota, Spain, where he was assigned to the base fire department; and Force Nonskid Installation Officer for Commander Naval Air Forces.
Mueller was selected for the Command Senior Chief Program in February 2015 and later Command Master chief. His serving tours as Command Master Chief include of USS Gabrielle Giffords Gold (LCS 10), most recently, USS Stockdale (DDG 106).
He is currently serving as the Command Master Chief aboard USS Somerset (LPD 25).
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards), Good Conduct Medal (6 awards) and various other campaign and service awards.
