Senior Chief Chris Perras, a native of West Warwick, Rhode Island, enlisted in the United States Navy in August 2001. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois he reported to Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Illinois where he completed Advanced Electronic Technical Core and Fire Controlman “A” Schools.
His fleet assignments include USS Mason, USS Forrest Sherman, and most recently, US Seventh Fleet Staff. In addition, Senior Chief Perras completed shore assignments at CSCS Unit Great Lakes and SCSC Wallops Island, Virginia.
Additionally, Senior Chief Perras is a graduate of the CMC/COB Course Class 233, the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 210 Gold, and is a Master Training Specialist.
He is currently serving as the Command Senior Chief for USS Omaha (LCS 12) Gold Crew.
His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
